About Us
SabPayechir AsarSabpayechir Asar was established on the 29th of July, 1945 by the late Akhil Neogi with the pen-name ‘Swapan Buro’. Our founder was an eminent writer, especially in the field of children’s literature. He was a talented artist, a successful editor, and above all a great visionary. The choice of the name ‘Sabpayechir Asar’ was inspired by the noble spirit contained in Rabindranath Tagore’s well-known poem ‘Sat Payechir Desh’. The name was proposed by poet Sunirmal Bose. The Asar started functioning on the strength of the initiative and zealous efforts of a handful of young boys and girls. Gradually the movement gathered momentum and branches were set up one after another in different parts of the country.
